Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 August 2026

By using ProxTalk you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Who can use ProxTalk

You must be at least 17 years old. The app connects you with strangers who are physically nearby, and it is not designed or intended for children.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on ProxTalk. You agree not to send, post, leave or transmit any content that:

You also agree not to use ProxTalk to track, follow, surveil or locate any person without their knowledge and consent, and not to attempt to circumvent blocking, reporting, or the distance limits built into the service.

Reporting and enforcement

Every message, photo, beam, echo and beacon can be reported from inside the app, and any user can be blocked. We review reports within 24 hours. Content that breaks these terms is removed and the accounts responsible are suspended or permanently removed. Reporting someone also blocks them immediately.

We may remove content and terminate accounts at our discretion, without notice, where these terms have been broken.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you create. You grant us only the limited permission needed to transmit it to the people you send it to, and to store it where the app says it is stored. Most content — voice, nearby chat and photos — is never stored on our servers at all. See the Privacy Policy.

Safety

ProxTalk connects you with people nearby, including people you do not know. Use ordinary caution: meet in public, share your location only with people you trust, and use blocking and reporting when something is wrong. We do not verify identities and we do not run background checks on users.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as is, without warranty. We may change, suspend or end features at any time. We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProxTalk is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, or from interactions with other users.
